Also worked at The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for many years. Now he works three days a week at a food shelter in Stillwater. Loves to volunteer!

He has been a mainstay from the very beginning of SSN and has supplied Davannis buns for years. His wife Dianne comes to help out often as well. Graduated from Cretin and is an accountant by trade. His son Andy is in the Special Forces Unit and has worked with SSN for 2 years now.

He coached baseball at Cretin for 26 years.
Peter J. Orput
Washington County Attorney
Peter J. Orput is the Washington County Attorney and has been one of the original volunteers with Safe Summer Nights initiative since 2014 and serves on the Board of Directors. His professional career includes positions as the assistant Hennepin County attorney assigned to the violent crimes unit. He was formerly the director of Policy and Legal Services for the Minnesota Department of Corrections. There, he supervised parole hearing officers in the Hearings and Release Unit as well as oversaw the department’s records, policies and contracts and legal services sections. Pete also served as general counsel to the commissioner of corrections.Prior to his position with the Department of Corrections Peter was the former deputy attorney general in charge of the Public Protection Section of the Minnesota Attorney General’s office. In that capacity, he oversaw the criminal prosecution, criminal appeals, predatory offender and public safety divisions. As deputy attorney general, Peter directed 48 prosecutors and staff in providing assistance to county attorneys throughout the state. Read More…

Kevin has been a volunteer ever since the Safe Summer Nights program started. He grew up in Saint Paul and loves giving back to this great city and its people.
